Design and dimensions
Send drawings with outer dimensions and volume, or a physical reference sample. List compartments, closures and any internal organisation. Confirm that you hold the rights to the design if it is not a generic one.
Main fabric
State fibre (for example polyamide or polyester), yarn count (for example in denier), weave and coating. If the fabric must meet abrasion, tear or water-resistance values, give each value with its test method.
Webbing, thread and hardware
Webbing width, material and breaking strength; thread type; and each piece of hardware — buckles, zips, hook-and-loop, D-rings — by type and size. Hardware is often where substitutions happen, so name what is mandatory and what is “or equivalent”.
Attachment system
Describe the attachment system for pouches and accessories: type, spacing of rows and columns, and which other equipment it must be compatible with.
Colour and signature
Give the colour or pattern reference for every component and any near-infrared reflectance requirement. Components from different sources can differ in shade; state the acceptable tolerance.
Tests, marking and packing
Load or drop tests if required, marking and labelling, units per carton.
Commercial part of the request
Public requests for quotation for tactical bags tend to ask for the same commercial elements. Stating them up front avoids a second round:
- quantity per item, and whether partial deliveries are acceptable;
- delivery terms (an Incoterms® rule such as FCA, CIF or DAP) and the delivery address;
- target delivery date and how long the quoted prices must remain valid;
- the documents the quotation must include — for example company registration, a datasheet or photographs of the offered item, or a pre-production sample;
- the submission format and deadline, if the request is part of a tender.
From specification to request
The modular backpack and tactical load vest pages each have a blank RFQ worksheet with these fields. Send it with drawings or a reference sample through the quote form.
Standards and sources cited
Standards are named so that each requirement can be written with its test method. Editions change: check the edition your contract or tender requires. The documents themselves are sold or published by their owners; the links lead to their official pages.

Questions buyers ask
We only have photos of the bag. Is that enough?
Photos help to understand the design, but dimensions, materials and hardware must be confirmed in writing or with a physical sample.
