Also called: PALS · MOLLE · Webbing ladder system
Most modern load-carriage equipment uses a ladder of horizontal webbing rows sewn onto the carrier at regular intervals. Pouches have matching straps that weave through the rows of both the carrier and the pouch, so equipment can be rearranged for each user or mission. The best-known pattern is PALS (Pouch Attachment Ladder System), developed for the US MOLLE equipment family; it is commonly built from 25 mm (1 inch) webbing rows with stitched channels about 38 mm (1.5 inch) apart.
When requesting load-carriage items, state the attachment system and its spacing, the webbing width and material, the colour and any NIR requirement, and which existing pouches or carriers the items must be compatible with.
